European goods lost ground, with Italian Italia and Crimson Seedless dominating the action in this sector, but almost disappearing from markets in some places. Greek, Spanish and French complemented the market. Turkish Sultana and Crimson Seedless increased in price quite massively at points. Demand was mostly quiet, occasionally improving a little. However, there were no major changes in prices. Hamburg reported increases in price as a result of increasing accommodations for seedless fruit.
Apples
The assortment had not changed significantly. Availability was sufficient to meet demand. Demand increased slightly, here and there.
Pears
Italian Abate Fetel and Santa Maria predominated. Demand was not particularly strong.
Oranges
Spanish Navelina dominated the scene. Overall, business was quiet. Traders rarely had cause to modify their previous prices.
Small citrus fruits
Spanish clementines, mostly in the form of clemenules, predominated in a very abundant assortment. Availability had narrowed slightly, but it was sufficient to meet demand without difficulty.
Lemons
Spanish Primofiori dominated over Turkish Enterdonato and Meyer lemons. Supply and demand were sufficiently balanced. Prices generally remained constant.
Bananas
Business was mixed and prices developed accordingly: These trended both up and down.
Cauliflower
The presence of the dominant Italian offers increased. In terms of importance, Spanish and French items followed, but they did not appear everywhere. Local products were facing their season's end.
Lettuce
The prices of colorful lettuce increased. In Frankfurt, French offers increased in price quite massively, elsewhere prices did not go up quite as much. Italian products completed the action.
Cucumbers
Spanish snake cucumbers prevailed. Demand could not be met everywhere. In addition, input demands increased in some places.
Tomatoes
A diverse assortment was available. With steady sales, the prices of almost all varieties increased during the week.
Sweet peppers
The market was calm, but busy: Spanish goods dominated over Turkish and Moroccan produce. Demand could generally be met.
