Iranian exports up 14 percent from March to October

Saudi Arabia: Date exports up 7.1 percent in 2021

Saudi Arabia’s date exports rose by 7.1 percent last year, to SR927 million ($247 million), while shipments by volume in the period increased by 17 percent to 215,000 tons.

As reported on arabnews.com¸ the nation is one of the world’s largest date producers, and harbors more than 33 million palm trees and 157 processing facilities. With support from the National Center for Palms and Dates, it has grown to become the world’s largest exporter of the fruit, selling to 107 international destinations.

Iranian date exports up 14 percent from March to October
Iran exported 137,000 tons of dates in the first seven months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21-October 22); 14 percent more than the exported amount in the same period of time in the past year.

Mahmoud Bazari, director-general of TPO’s Coordination Office for Development of Agro Products Export and Processing Industries, also said that Iran’s date export has risen 10 percent in terms of value as compared to the same time span of the past year. India, France, Morocco, United Arab Emirates, Britain, the U.S., Indonesia, Germany, the Netherlands and Canada are the major buyers of Iranian dates.

As stated by the head of National Association of Iranian Dates (NAID), there is the capacity for the export of $1 billion of dates from the country in a year.
