Symposium analyzes social responsibility in Mexico

The 3rd. Symposium on Agricultural Social Responsibility of AMHPAC was held in Guadalajara, Jalisco with the participation of 100 representatives of agricultural companies located in 14 states of the Mexican Republic.

During this symposium, a press conference was held, led by the leaders of the main industry organizations at the national level, who jointly seek the well being of the Mexican countryside and agricultural day workers.

The symposium discussed many challenges facing the sector including labor deficit, certifications within the agribusinesses and more.

They pointed out that the main challenges facing the sector are: the labor deficit, foreign trade conditions and the certifications that agribusinesses must have. In the same way, they emphasized that there are opportunities for improvement in regulatory compliance.

The president of AMHPAC, Guillermo Jimenez, stressed that “today the agricultural sector in Mexico is being seen more than ever as the engine of economic and social development that it truly is. This should return the focus to the most essential thing we have as companies of the field: people.”

The symposium had participation from 100 representatives of agricultural companies located in 14 states of the Mexican Republic.

Some of the topics addressed during the sessions on the first day of the symposium were:

Compliance with the labor chapter of the T-MEC; environmental impact in the agricultural sector; innovation and improvement; the female labor force in Mexico; new models in the hiring and retention of personnel, forced and child labour; and legal update: agricultural season 2022-2023.

To end the activities of the first day, Jimenez invited all the companies present to continue promoting the culture of social responsibility every day so that it becomes a natural behavior in the sector and of Mexico and to be an example for others.
