Several studies on the psychology of color (Color and Psychological Functioning, Elliot A.J. & others.) support the consideration that this characteristic represents a fundamental source of information for the consumer. People make a decision within 90 seconds of their initial interactions with products, and around 62-90% of the rating is based solely on colors. This applies to all purchases and even more for fruit and vegetables.
This is why, in summer, orange and red become dominant colors in fruit and vegetable choices because they represent the sun, the life, the energy to which, in fresh products, nutritional requirements consistent with the visual image are always associated.
For this reason, apricots are a symbol of summer with their beautiful orange color in different shades that arrives to intense red. If the color sends the message of the most evocative impulse purchase, the consumption experience, the taste, the sweetness, the consistency of the fruit, the juiciness and constancy of these characteristics are also fundamental every time you buy an apricot.
Italy is the leading producer of apricots in Europe, with an offer of around 260,000 tons in 2022 and a distribution of cultivation that goes from the South to the North of Italy and which allows the production from May to the end of August.
