Ing.A.Rossi Impianti Industriali srl

Italian technology for the processing of agricultural products

A 70-year-long family history, which has led the company Ing. A.Rossi Impianti industriali to be on a national and international scale in the construction of plants and processing lines for the food industry.

"Eighty percent of our turnover is generated abroad, and we meet all kinds of needs, either those that require a more technologically advanced line, like in the United States and Europe, or those who demand a more basic and traditional line, as is often the case in Asia and Africa," said Francesco Rossi, who represents the third generation of the family in the company.

There are three product categories realized by Ing. A. Rossi: the first is the realization of lines for the primary processing, that is, the processing of agricultural products such as tomatoes, fruits, and vegetables. The second category of plant engineering is related to secondary processes to obtain, for example, finished products with different ingredients, ready meals, jams, baby food.

"The third asset, which is also the newest one in our company, is Aronpak and concerns packaging technologies such as bottling of sauces, or packaging of diced tomatoes, just to mention a couple of examples,” added Rossi.

The Ing.A.Rossi company, founded in 1951 in Parma by Angelo Rossi, is focused on all stages, from receiving, washing and transporting, to enzymatic extraction and deactivation, concentration, pasteurization and sterilization, and filling. The company is part of Cermac as it is aimed at the international market and, thanks to the Consortium, is able to reach markets that would otherwise be more difficult to tackle alone.

On the customer requirements front, many are currently demanding processing lines that consume less and less energy for the same efficiency. "We have already been working on this front for years, so we were not unprepared. Our R&D division places energy conservation among its priorities at every stage of the project design. Because of this, we have technologies in our catalog that reduce methane consumption or drastically lower costs if you have a photovoltaic system."

Among the firm's most recent patents is a high-speed aseptic Bag in Box packaging system to package tomato puree, pulp, and puree in 10-20 kg packages dedicated to the Horeca sector.

"In the last few months in Italy, we have had numerous requests for technologies applying 4.0 principles, and this has allowed us to modernize many plants. One of the new projects worth mentioning is the Metis project for enzymatic deactivation," concluded Rossi.
