After years of extensive and thorough testing, Cardinal Fresh has developed a new commercial system that sanitizes fresh fruits and vegetables already packed and palletized. This is especially valuable for products like berries which are picked and packed in the field and cannot be washed. The same holds true with crops like avocados which are also not normally washed.
The new commercial system sanitizes fresh fruits and vegetables already packed and palletized.
The technology uses ozone as the principal sanitizing agent, coupled with key proprietary engineering which allows for thorough penetration into the palletized master boxes of bulk product or clamshells. Ozone use on food products has been approved by FDA since 2001.
The brand name is Accelerated Ozone™ and in Mexico, Ozono Acelerado™.

In addition to the sanitizing capability, there’s also an improvement in shelf life on all of the product lines tested. This unit has now been successfully introduced in Mexico with Cardinal Fresh’s distributor, Omniozono SA de CV, starting with avocado production and shipping.
