The year 2023 marks the 110th anniversary of Sakata Seed Corporation. At Fruit Logistica, hall 8.2 - stand B61, Sakata EMEA will highlight the close ties woven with its partners with the slogan “110 years of passion of seed with you” and a video showcasing its relationship with producers.
This anniversary is the occasion for Sakata to confirm its involvement in preserving the environment and society. To reduce the global food footprint, Sakata brings production closer to the place of consumption by recently developing Mieluna F1, a butternut adapted to Northern countries where this crop is part of the daily culinary landscape.
To contribute to better health, Sakata recently launched Purple Magic, unique on the market with its purple beads and stems, this broccoli presents a high level of anthocyanin*. Sakata also develops vegetables attractive to the young generation: snacking varieties such as pepper Sunakku F1 or specialty tomato Chocostar F1; or cabbages with a sweet touch like Felicity F1.
Sakata produces varieties which meet the needs of all the players in the food chain. For instance, blocky pepper Moma F1 has a remarkable yield. Butternut Estrella F1 offers an exceptional shelf life. The microwaveable mini squash (SQ220002 F1) or Sakata’s pink tomato range meet the consumers’ appetite for easy-to-cook and colourful products.
At Sakata, taste comes first. Sakata will therefore welcome its visitors at a live cooking corner to savour recipes based on two crops on which Sakata is an undisputed leader: broccoli and butternut.
