Total Canadian Potato Storage Holdings on February 1, 2023 are down slightly (-1.8%) over 2022 numbers for the same period, but are still 5.8% above the 3-yr. average, mostly due to the increased size of the crop in the last two years.
Based on the disappearance figures, there were 10.9 million cwt of potatoes shipped from storage in January 2023, 9.7% higher than in January 2022 and 14.7% higher than pre-covid (2019) numbers.
