Mozambique's newest cold store opens

A newly-built cold store was on 16 May opened at its site in the Matola Cargo Terminal where stakeholders in the clearing and forwarding of fruit met.

The Matola Cargo Terminal within the port of Maputo, Mozambique, forms part of the TLG Group.

The Perishable Products Export Control Boards will take up an office at the cold store which can take 1,500 pallets at this stage, but is planning to expand to 4,500 pallets.

Anton Potgieter, CEO of The Logistics Group, at the opening with Paulo Franco, MD of FPT and Sean Gent of the Matola Cargo Terminal

The fruit flow at the cold store and in the terminal is handled by FPT, which already owns and operates private terminals in Durban, Port Elizabeth and Cape Town.
