The berry season in Ukraine is gaining momentum. Traditionally, the first berry to appear on the market is the garden strawberry. Even though the blueberry season has not started yet, some farmers began to harvest the first crops of this crop at the end of May. In particular, in the berry farm of Oleg Pustovoyt, who has been growing garden strawberries and premium blueberries since 2013, the Reka blueberry variety has already ripened, which grows in a greenhouse on an area of 10 acres. There are 600 bushes planted in total.
This berry was planted for a particular client, so it was contracted for the entire season. To improve the pollination of the bushes, bumblebees were used in the greenhouse.
This year, the first blueberry harvest was collected 10 days earlier than in 2022. But last year, this farm was occupied for some time.
