Since the beginning of 2023, the North Caucasus Interregional Department of Phytosanitary Surveillance has inspected imported batches of citrus fruits with a total weight of 1,089 tons in the Stavropol region of Russia. During this period, 844 tons of oranges from Iran, 102 tons of lemons, and 41 tons of mandarins from Georgia were received. Turkey provided 65 tons of lemons, 26 tons of oranges, and 11 tons of mandarins.
In the same period last year, there were significantly fewer deliveries, with only about 38 tons of citrus fruits. This year, the import has increased by 96.5%.
No quarantine objects were found in citrus fruits during laboratory tests. All the products were allowed for further sale only after conducting the necessary studies.
