Macfrut is promoting the 2024 edition with a presentation in Cesenatico, in the heart of Romagna. On July 3rd, Cesena Fiera President Renzo Piraccini, together with various advisors and the entire Cesena Fiera staff, presented the 2024 edition, which features two new introductions: the Innovation Hub For Healthy Food (the 'Strengthened Fresh Produce' exhibition, as defined by researcher Pietro Rocculi) and the exhibition dedicated to agrovoltaic solutions.

President Piraccini stated that "Macfrut 2023 ended only two months ago, but we are already working on the 41st edition. We already have bookings, but we want to get even more involvement from abroad."

Piraccini in fact stressed how Macfrut is increasingly looking abroad . The 2024 edition will focus on Puglia, table grapes and the Arabian peninsula.

"The official presentation for 2024 (May 8-10) will take place on October 11th at the Doha Expo inside the Italian pavilion, which was designed precisely by Cesena Fiera. The capital city of Qatar was chosen because Macfrut has been focusing on the Arabian peninsula, as can be seen from the previous presentations in Dubai (2022) and Riyadh (2023). What is more, the 2024 edition will be dedicated precisely to that strategic area for Italian produce," explained Piraccini.

The Arabian peninsula imports 70% of the fresh produce it consumes, meaning Italy could play a pivotal role as a hub located in southern Europe thanks to its maritime logistics. The increasing presence of operators and visitors who attend Macfrut from this area is testament to the interest for our country, also confirmed by the growth in the commercial relationships between the Arabian peninsula and Europe over the past few year."
The product symbol of Macfrut 2023 will be table grapes, one of the emblems of Italian exports worldwide, and the Macfrut Table Grape Symposium will be organized within the fair. The partner Region for this edition will be Puglia, renowned all over the world for its high-quality productions, which include Uva di Puglia Igp.
Another important introduction in 2024 is Macfrut Academy, i.e. an exclusive service for exhibitors thanks to which they will be able to enjoy a full range of dedicated services all year round such as technical focuses on innovation, live and online events, professional meetings with experts from all over the world. Macfrut Academy practically extends the fair to cover the entire year, creating a hub to remain connected with the sector on an international level.
What is more, there will be two new exhibitions: the first is the Agrovoltaic Exhibition, Agrisolar System&Technologies, in collaboration with IEG (Italian Exhibition Group), i.e. a showcase of the technical solutions available on the market when it comes to modern agriculture. The second, Innovation Hub For Healthy Food, is an exhibition dedicated to products and technologies for the production of functional elements with a high nutritional content, organized in collaboration with the Course in Food Science and Technology at the University of Bologna and dedicated to innovative products.

There will also be exhibitions dedicated to introductions concerning the entire chain, i.e. Biosolution international event; Acqua Campus, Spice & Herbs Global Expo; Red Planet; and the Plant Nursery area.
