The slowdown in the Iranian cherry campaign stabilizes prices

The Iranian cherry campaign is continuing until the end of the summer, at an exceptionally quiet pace, with lower demand than expected. Hadi Mirzaei, an Iranian exporter of fresh produce, gives an update on the market situation.

Mirzaei said: "We started the season with strong demand from the United Arab Emirates, India, and Russia. The campaign got off to a strong start, with a steady stream of orders. However, we are currently witnessing a slowdown in the market."

The exporter adds: "It's difficult to interpret the reasons for this slowdown. There haven't really been any changes in terms of marketing. In the case of Russia, we can try to understand, given everything that's happening in Eastern Europe and the sudden changes in that market. However, in the case of the United Arab Emirates, we can simply wait for demand to recover, or so we hope."

According to Mirzaei, the United Arab Emirates, India, and Russia are the main destinations for Iranian cherries, and any slowdown in these markets has an impact on the campaign. Outside these three destinations, Iranian cherries are exported just about everywhere.

"All these parameters will translate into stable prices for Iranian cherries throughout the summer," adds Mirzaei. "We will keep prices stable to cope with the competition from regional countries on the cherry market. Until now, the competition is not a huge concern, but is still a fairly present challenge. ."

"Stable prices, for the superior quality we offer, are our ultimate resort to resuscitate demand," says the exporter, concluding, "We have high-quality cherries, which are fresh, sweet, and juicy. The shelf life of our cherries is longer than that of the competition. They are beautifully tended and packed with particular care."
