Two award-winning tomatoes introduced

Lipman Family Farms introduces two flavorful new tomatoes to its family of tomato varieties: the Monet Red™ and Bellavina®. Both tomatoes were recently awarded the International Taste Institute's 2023 Superior Taste Award.

"We are excited to introduce these two tomatoes and delighted to receive international acclaim for their taste profiles," said Elyse Lipman, CEO of Lipman Family Farms. "Our commitment to research and development to grow innovative varieties with flavor as the key differentiator has come to fruition."

The Monet Red tomatoes are greenhouse-grown cocktail-type tomatoes that are available year-round.

Lipman's Monet Red is a greenhouse-grown cocktail-type tomato available year-round. Picked fresh from the vine, round and sweet, these cocktail tomatoes can be added to a garden salad, pasta dish, or hors d'oeuvres, adding vibrancy and bold red color to any dish.

Lipman's Bellavina is a greenhouse-grown tomato on the vine and is also available year-round. Used for freshly slicing, cooking, roasting, or blending for sauces, the Bellavina has a bold red color inside and out. Earning an impressive overall mark from the International Taste Institute, Bellavina received three of three stars.

The Monet Red and Bellavina tomatoes are prime examples of Lipman's commitment to introducing new varieties. These two varieties are part of Lipman's innovation pipeline.

Bellavina earned an overall mark of three of three stars from the International Taste Institute.

The International Taste Institute, founded in 2005 and based in Brussels, Belgium, evaluates and certifies the taste of foods and drinks from around the world. Its jury of more than 200 selected professional taste experts scores product performance according to the five standard sensory criteria: first impression, vision, olfaction, taste, and texture. Awarded to products across the food and beverage industry, the award establishes their credentials as overall exemplary items.

"Our commitment to growing food is a passion shared across our company," said Lipman. "We recognize the importance of bringing new, exciting options to consumers across North America and are committed to partnering with the best in the industry to source improved greenhouse varietals."

Both tomato varieties are presented in premium packaging with bold branding to build consumer awareness and appeal to the food-savvy shopper.

Elyse Lipman.

Lipman will share these tomatoes with attendees in booth 633 at SEPC's Southern Innovations this September in Charlotte, North Carolina, and in booth 3465 at IFPA's Global Produce & Floral Show this October in Anaheim, California.
