Community and Spanish fruit and vegetable exports to Brazil, USA, and Canada are growing

According to the first session of the World Fresh Forum -a webinar organized by ICEX Spain Export and Investment, IFEMA Madrid, and FEPEX as part of the parallel activities held on the occasion of Fruit Attraction- the Community's fresh fruit and vegetable exports to Brazil stood at 166.4 million euro in 2022, i.e. 79% more than in the previous year.

Spanish fresh fruit and vegetable exports accounted for 40% of Community sales to Brazil in 2022, with 66 million euro, 29% more than in 2021, according to Eurostat data that the secretary general of FEPEX, José María Zalbidea presented in yesterday's webinar. The webinar was also attended by the director of Fruit Attraction, María José Sánchez, and the head of the Food and Beverage department of ICEX, Lidia Escribano.

Today's webinar will analyze the keys and opportunities to address the United States market, where EU fresh fruit and vegetable exports amounted to 219 million euro in 2022, i.e. 23.5% more than in 2021. Spain also accounted for 40% of the total exported by the EU, totaling 87 million euro, 12% more than in 2021.

Community exports to Canada, a market that will be addressed tomorrow, stood at 128 million euros, i.e. 20% more than in 2021. Spain exported 81 million euro worth of fruit and vegetables to this country, 20% more than in 2021, which accounted for 63% of the total.
