Bruce Eklund, state statistician of the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service, New Jersey Field Office has stated that New Jersey 2022 sales for principal vegetables totaled $242 million from more than 32,000 harvested acres.
Bell peppers led in value of production, followed by tomatoes, and sweet corn. Sweet corn led in harvested acres followed by bell peppers and tomatoes. These estimates represent crops grown in the open, not those grown under glass or other protection.
