Team Kuehne+Nagel Mexico

“We are dedicated to maintaining the cold chain for perishables travelling globally”

Shipping perishable goods worldwide demands expertise, relationships and dedication. Kuehne+Nagel Mexico specializes in preserving the cold chain throughout the transportation journey. “We handle a variety of perishable items around the globe, including fresh produce, flowers, fish, seafood, dairy and cheese. When it comes to air freight, we are number one in volume globally,” notes Goncalo Vieira, Global Air Logistics Perishable Manager with the company. “We have a presence in most countries and can reach nearly any destination,” adds Jorge Rodriguez, National Airfreight Perishable Development Manager. “Fresh produce accounts for 22% of our perishable shipments.”

Berries
“Berries are a significant part of our business, alongside avocados, asparagus, tomatoes, mangoes, exotic fruits and more.” Dedicated professionals specialize in exporting Mexican-grown berries to Europe, Asia, and the Middle East from late September or early October until May. “Each variety possesses unique characteristics that demand expertise in international logistics and cold chain management”, shared Christopher Lopez, National Air Logistics Perishable Director.

Partnerships
Partnerships are crucial to freight forwarders. “Our responsibility is to maintain the cold chain,” states Vieira. “To achieve the best results, we collaborate closely with berry growers, packers, and exporters.” The Kuehne+Nagel team provides comprehensive solutions 24/7, including ground transportation, packing, labeling, and essential services to help customers access global markets. “Our strong relationships with international airlines ensure capacity for our customers.”

With GPS location tracking, customers enjoy complete visibility with access to status updates for every shipment from pickup to customs, air freight and final delivery. This commitment to real-time visibility empowers customers to make informed decisions and have confidence in on-time deliveries. “For us, it’s more than just moving cargo. We genuinely care for the fruit,” emphasizes Lopez.

In 2017, Kuehne+Nagel made a strategic acquisition by adding Commodity Forwarders Inc.(CFI) and its 13 locations to the USA portfolio. “This move significantly bolstered our worldwide presence in the perishables sector while opening up a multitude of opportunities and growth prospects across North, Central and South America.”

Tradeshows
To showcase their services and brand to a large and targeted audience within the fruit, vegetable and floral vertical, Kuehne+Nagel is exhibiting at Fruit Attraction in Madrid next week as well as the Global Produce & Floral Show in Anaheim, California next month. “These shows bring together industry professionals, potential clients and partners. This level of global networking reenergizes the team and sharpens our focus. For us, the events are another way to demonstrate our dedication and investment to the produce industry,” the team said. They will be at the booth and are available to meet up. Visit them at Pavilion 4, stand 4A08 in Madrid from October 3-5. Next month, on October 20 and 21, stop by booth 4616 in Anaheim.
