Record apple crop for Pennsylvania

Rice Fruit Company, a producer of Eastern apples, looks forward to its annual participation at the IFPA Global Produce & Floral Show, this year in Anaheim, California.

“We enjoy connecting with the produce supply chain in the fall,” said Brenda Briggs, VP of sales and marketing. “The energy of harvest season will be abuzz in our booth as we share the excitement of this year’s record crop.”

Continuing the celebration of its milestone 110th year of business, the grower-shipper welcomes attendees and buyers to booth #1457 to learn about its business--from its humble roots to its modern-day operation.

Showcasing both traditional and trending apple varieties in the booth, show attendees will discover its newest variety, Lemonade™. This golden apple has a bright, sweet-tart flavor with a refreshing effervescence. Its crisp texture satisfies with a firm yet juicy crunch. The Rice Fruit booth will also showcase staples like Honeycrisp, Fuji, Pink Lady® and Gala.

Rice Fruit’s crop is attributed to the Adams County microclimate and the dedication to sustainable farming practices at the core of its business model.

“Our suite of apples is bursting with flavor this fall, exemplifying our record apple crop and exceptional fruit quality,” added Briggs. “We’re excited to sample some of the most flavor-forward apple varieties in compliment to our tried and true, consistent consumer favorites.”

“Our commitment to sustainability is evident at each stop of the growing, packing and shipping process,” said Briggs. “Our use of innovative techniques allows us to reduce our ecological footprint through smarter on-farm practices such as integrated pest management, efficient water usage and soil conservation. In addition, our fruit and our employees are enjoying our new Pollinator Garden, a true example of the sweet-natured balance of our ecosystem.”
