Wisconsin expects large cranberry harvest

Wisconsin leads the nation in cranberry production, supplying 60% of the nation’s cranberry crop. According to stats from WSCGA, cranberries are grown on 21,000 acres across 20 counties in Wisconsin. The Wisconsin State Cranberry Growers Association claims one of the best ways to see harvest is by driving the Wisconsin Cranberry Highway, which extends 50 miles across central Wisconsin’s cranberry growing region, stretching from Wisconsin Rapids to Warrens.

Tom Lochner, executive director of the association: "We've got a pretty good crop in Wisconsin, and I think it's going to be a little bit better than people thought. This year's cranberry crop is estimated to be over 5 million barrels. "We've got good quality and good quantity of fruit in Wisconsin this year."
