Numbeo, a widely recognized database for global cost-of-living comparisons, recently released a ranking of countries based on the cost of apples. According to data analysed by Energyprom, a Kazakhstan-based agency, as of November 13th of the current year, Ukraine emerged as the country where apples are the most affordable, priced at a mere $0.69 per kilogram.
Following Ukraine, North Macedonia and Poland secured the second and third spots, with apple prices at $0.80 and $0.90 per kilogram, respectively. Iran and Belarus had a similar average price of $0.95 per kilogram.
Other countries where apples cost less than one dollar per kilogram included Pakistan ($0.97) and Iraq ($0.99).
Azerbaijan claimed the 12th spot in the ranking with a price of $1.14, while Uzbekistan ranked 17th at $1.20. Among the Commonwealth of Independent States, Kazakhstan had the highest apple prices, landing at the 19th position, with apples priced at $1.22. Armenia and Russia shared the same apple price of $1.15.
On the flip side, the title of the most expensive apples globally goes to South Korea ($6.71), followed by Puerto Rico ($5.96) and the United States of America ($5.36). The study sheds light on the diverse cost landscape of apples worldwide, with Ukraine standing out as a particularly budget-friendly destination for apple enthusiasts.
