Vivero Los Viñedos, a fruit nursery in Peru, reaffirms its commitment to the agricultural development of large, small producers and rural communities by donating more than 35,000 mandarin seedlings to the Huancavelica region. Last Thursday, January 25, under the direction of its General Manager, engineer Mercedes Auris Bravo, who was born in the region and feels a strong bond with her homeland delivered the seedlings to the community.
The company celebrates 30 years at the service of agriculture, “The delivery of these 35,000 citrus seedlings aims to encourage the production and consumption of healthy foods rich in vitamin C, especially in children, familiarize farmers with the cultivation of tangerines and find new windows of production of this crop. This generous gesture was carried out in collaboration with the municipal representatives of the region, who gratefully received the donation intended to benefit the local communities,” says Ing. Auris.
Representatives who attend the handing over ceremony included Wilmer Cabrera Huamaní, Mayor of the Municipality of Huaytará; Prof. Jorge Luis Salvatierra Mejía, Mayor of the Municipality of Ayavi; Mr. Edelvina Rosa Geronimo Yarasca, Mayor of the Municipality of Córdoba; Luis Paul Condori Sotomayor, Mayor of the Municipality of Ocoyo; His Excellency Héctor Raúl Cervantes Huamani, Mayor of the Municipality of Sant. Quirahuara; José Antonio Armacanqui Cáceres, Mayor of the Municipality of Laramarca; José Manuel Quispe García, Mayor of the Municipality of Huirpacancha; José Vicente Romero Cahuana, Mayor of the Municipality of Stgo. Chocorvos; Ceven Aljerico Alonzosoto, Mayor of the Municipality of Sangayaico; Julio Cesar León Delgado, Mayor of the Municipality of Tambo; Felito Brulio Ruiz Quispe, Mayor of the Municipality of Quito Arma, Elvis Ronald Escobar Mantari, Mayor of the Municipality of Std Capillas, among others.
“The delivery of these seedlings is not only an act of generosity on the part of Vivero Los Viñedos, but also a significant step towards the promotion of agro-export and crop diversification in the region. Under the philosophy of ‘If one grows, we all grow’. Vivero Los Viñedos seeks to contribute to the sustainable development of the country, encouraging farmers to bet on fruit trees for export and improving the quality of life of vulnerable populations,” states Ing. Auris.
The company is especially grateful for the management of the mayors, the team of Vivero Los Viñedos and Ricardo Yauricasa for their immediate support, which allowed the successful completion of this work. “Vivero Los Viñedos will continue to innovate and work tirelessly to strengthen the country's agricultural fabric and continue to be a pillar in the progress of communities from south to north in Peru,” concludes Ing.
