Students from the VN-UK Institute for Research and Executive Education in Da Nang have developed 'Botanical Inks,' an innovative project creating environmentally-friendly writing ink and art paints from leftover fruits and vegetables. This initiative won third prize at the 'Innovation Challenge 2024' and competed in the 'VSTARTUP 2024 Student Startup' finals.
The inks utilize Anthocyanin compounds from agricultural waste, offering a non-toxic alternative that is safer for users and the environment. The project, which represents a new approach in Vietnam, has produced inks with superior fading resistance and faster drying times compared to traditional products. It also explores potential applications in printing and textile dyeing, aligning with environmental sustainability goals.
