On Friday, April 26, the "first" pile was driven into the ground for BG Door and Van der Heiden Systems' new premises at Nieuw-Reijerwaard in the Netherlands. It was a symbolic first pile since all the piles are already in place. That, thus, actually makes it the last pile.
Jan van Kessel and Leon Hooghart are proud of this milestone.
Everything is being prepared. A quick photo on the pile before it goes into the ground.
The existing company building is located in an area where new homes are to be built, so BG Door would have had to make way for those.
The leading players are listed on the pile-driving post.
We are ready!
They are a fresh produce sector service provider, so could establish themselves on the new Dutch Fresport 3 development site. This is the Netherlands' largest specialized agri/fresh/food cluster.
The men did a good job of fixing things together.
At 5,800m2, the new state-of-the-art building will be almost twice as large as the current one. "That's sorely needed. We have limited space at our current location and are ready for further growth," says Jan van Kessel. Equipped with solar panels, it is being built sustainably and according to the latest standards.
This is how it should look.
Cheers to the new construction.
Construction should be complete by late November 2024. The move is planned for December 2024, and the premises will be ready for use on January 1, 2025. "We'll be well-equipped, located among our local customers, and from Ridderkerk, we can serve our international clients even more efficiently," Jan explains.
Leon Hooghart: thank you for coming!
Jan pointed out that their staff are the company's main pillars.
The pile being secured was, of course, celebrated with champagne. And that had to be in the presence of colleagues, friends, and sector acquaintances.

The men from Bouwbedrijf Aan de Stegge Twello, who must steer everything in the right direction at the construction site, congratulate Jan.
