Potato stocks in Idaho on June 1, 2024 totaled 32.0 million cwt. Disappearance of the Idaho crop to date was 113 million cwt. June 1 potato stocks in Oregon totaled 4.10 million cwt. Disappearance to date was 23.4 million cwt. In Washington, June 1 potato stocks totaled 14.0 million cwt. Disappearance to date totaled 85.7 million cwt. Nationally, the major potato
States held 66.8 million cwt in storage on June 1, 2024, up 19 percent from June 1, 2023. Potatoes in storage accounted for 15 percent of the 2023 production compared with 14 percent a year earlier. The indicated potato disappearance, at 374 million cwt, was up 8 percent from the same period last year.
Processors in Idaho used 68.4 million cwt of potatoes for the season. In Oregon, 32.7 million cwt of potatoes had been used by processors for the season. Of the total, 8.5 million cwt had been used in Malheur County and 24.1 million cwt had been used in other counties. In Washington, 56.0 million cwt of potatoes had been used by processors for the season.
Processors in the 8 States used 195 million cwt of potatoes for the season, up 4 percent from June 1, 2023.
