McDonald's Korea, a subsidiary of McDonald's Corp., announced a temporary cessation of french fry sales, attributing the pause to an "unexpected issue within our supply chain" linked to "substandard" frozen potatoes.
The company expressed regret for the inconvenience caused and committed to restoring service promptly, although no specific timeline for the resumption of sales was provided. This incident marks another instance in recent years when McDonald's Korea has had to suspend french fry sales, following similar pauses in 2021 and 2022 amid global supply chain disruptions triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, the fast-food chain recently adjusted the prices of 16 menu items, including the Big Mac, reflecting an average increase of 2.8 percent.
