Export of snow peas from J&K to the UK highlighted by Prime Minister Modi

In a recent address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi acknowledged Abdul Rashid Mir from Chakura village, Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), for pioneering the export of snow peas, underscoring the region's capability in globalizing local produce.

During the 111th 'Mann ki Baat' episode, Modi spotlighted the inaugural shipment of snow peas to London from Pulwama, J&K, marking a significant stride in agricultural exports for the region. This initiative, led by Mir, involved the consolidation of local farmlands for snow pea cultivation, swiftly facilitating their reach to the international market.

Modi emphasized the broader implications of this achievement for J&K's prosperity and encouraged the national promotion of unique products under the #myproductsmypride initiative. Additionally, the Prime Minister shared insights into the nutritional value of snow peas, which are rich in vitamin C and antioxidants, and highlighted their cultural significance in Kashmiri cuisine. The address also covered the enthusiastic celebration of the 10th Yoga Day in Kashmir, noting the widespread participation across the region.
