ATP: 'Maximum efficiency to avoid waste of resources'

An extensive sales network, comprising dozens of agents and resellers operating in different countries, allows ATP to meet every request and need, making it a reliable player capable of offering irrigation systems to farmers worldwide.

"In addition to primarily covering the central and southern regions of Italy, our installations are widely present in Eastern Europe, North Africa, and South America. Our target customers range from small farmers to larger, more structured farms that grow fruit and vegetables in open fields and greenhouses across diverse geographical, environmental, and climatic contexts. We connect the customer with the dealer in their area, and if the area is not covered, we directly assist with selecting and purchasing the irrigation products best suited to their needs."

This is according to Nicola Filannino, owner of the company, which has been active for over fifty years in Barletta, Puglia, specializing in the production of polypropylene pipes and fittings for the plumbing sector and polyethylene drip irrigation systems.

He continues: "Drip lines, our flagship products, are excellent irrigation solutions that guarantee great efficiency in water and fertilizer management. These systems, tailored to the needs of different crops, provide the right amount of resources without waste and with ease."

The ATP company produces two types of driplines: the Pluvio dripline with dripper and the Pluvio Tape dripline with labyrinth:

  • Pluvio Tape features a continuous, self-cleaning turbulent flow labyrinth, which is ideal for closely spaced planting patterns and in sandy and very draining soils. Among its many advantages are the reduction of phytopathologies linked to the plant's epigeal apparatus, as the leaf apparatus remains dry; excellent resistance to plant pressure peaks and traction; and a wide range of available thicknesses, allowing the dripline to be used for irrigating different crops.
  • Pluvio, on the other hand, is a lightweight dripline with a flat, self-cleaning turbulent-flow dripper, ensuring extremely low localized pressure drops, with the capability to achieve long row lengths for each of the many available thicknesses. Pluvio's features and advantages include uniform dripping over the entire length, resulting in homogeneous plant growth. The dripper has wide internal passages that create high turbulence, making it self-cleaning and therefore ideal for fertigation. Its excellent uniformity performance and the variety of the range make it suitable for irrigating different crops.

"For some time," says the Apulian manager, "we have been committed to designing solutions that use resources efficiently—a mission that has become even more challenging with the current prolonged drought. Drip irrigation systems, which allow for precise calibration and localization of water delivery, are the best solution for the efficient use of resources. The principle of drip irrigation is to deliver water, calibrated per drop point, directly to the root system. The systems we sell to farmers daily, if well designed and paired with a proper filtration system, can be 100% efficient, preventing resource wastage."
