The Brazilian government acknowledged Costa Rica's decision to allow avocado exports from Brazil, marking a new addition to their trade agreements. This development signifies Brazil's third successful market opening in Costa Rica for the year 2024, aiming to bolster trade relations and affirming the international trust in Brazil's sanitary standards.
Costa Rica serves as a notable market for Brazilian agribusiness, with exports reaching $153 million in the initial half of the current year. This latest achievement highlights the 89th market opening for Brazilian agribusiness within the year, culminating in 167 new market openings across 55 destinations since early 2023. These accomplishments are attributed to the joint efforts of Brazil's Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE).
