The 2024 China International Fruit Expo (China Fruit), hosted by the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Foodstuffs, Native Produce and Animal By-Products (CFNA) and the China Fruit Marketing Association (CFMA), and organized by Shanghai Maoheng Exhibition Co., Ltd., will take place at the Shanghai Pudong New International Expo Center from August 28 to 30, 2024. Over 300 companies from more than 30 countries will participate, including prominent domestic and international brands such as Joy Wing Mau, Zespri, Good Farmer, Dole, and Driscoll's (listed in no particular order).
Over the past three years, the China Fruit Expo has evolved from a trader-centric event into a comprehensive platform serving the entire fresh fruit industry chain. On the production side, key international regions such as Chile, Peru, Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia, as well as domestic regions like Guangxi, Guangdong, Yunnan, and Hainan, will be represented.
On the distribution side, alongside participation from East China and South China, distributors from first- and second-tier cities, as well as those from central, western, and southwest regions, including third- and fourth-tier cities, have joined the platform. Buyers from emerging channels such as e-commerce, supermarket fresh food sections, and group purchasing have increased significantly year after year. Additionally, upstream and downstream service providers, including inspection and quarantine agencies, agricultural machinery and equipment suppliers, and cold chain warehousing companies, will also gather at the Expo.
This year, major buyers like Hema, Douyin E-commerce, JD.com, and Kuaishou E-commerce will conduct significant fruit procurement activities. The "Douyin Source Selection·China International Fruit Expo Investment Promotion Conference - Shanghai Station," jointly organized by Douyin E-commerce and China Fruit Expo, will be held on-site.
The JD Fresh Billion Agricultural Subsidy Strategy Conference will unveil the latest strategic developments in JD Fresh's operations for the fruit industry. Following the signing of a strategic partnership with 17 top global fruit merchants at the 2023 edition, Hema will this year focus on promoting rising domestic fruits, engaging in a series of strategic cooperation activities with high-quality domestic fruits and production areas.
Furthermore, the "Protection of Intellectual Property Rights in the Fruit and Vegetable Industry" forum, co-organized by Baker McKenzie FenXun (FTZ) Joint Venture Office, Bloom Fresh International Limited, Rockit Global, and China Fruit Expo, will also take place during the event.
World Fruit - China Market
Currently, fruit companies from more than 30 countries have confirmed their participation in the exhibition. From Chilean cherries and New Zealand kiwifruits to Southeast Asian durians and Egyptian oranges, a diverse range of fruits will be showcased. Notably, this year's exhibition will feature fresh Malaysian durians, recently approved for entry into the Chinese market, and Australian avocados making their debut in China. Global fruit merchants are eager to tap into the Chinese market, and the China Fruit Expo serves as a gateway for China to continue its economic opening and global engagement.
