An early look at SWIPE 2024

The Fresh Produce Association of the Americas (FPAA) is providing a glance into the upcoming Southwest International Produce Expo (SWIPE), taking place November 7-9, 2024, at the JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort & Spa in Tucson, Arizona.

"SWIPE booths are selling rapidly, and we encourage companies to sign up quickly to secure a spot before the event sells out," says Lance Jungmeyer, FPAA president. "The demand for booth space shows the growing importance of this event within the produce industry. Exhibitors are drawn to the ratio of buyers to exhibitors, helping people have one-on-ones with their customers and potential customers."

SWIPE is taking place November 7-9, 2024 in Tucson, Arizona.

In its second year, SWIPE is planning for over 60 top retailers and food service buyers, including industry partners such as Sysco, Sobeys, Walmart, Markon, Grocery Outlet, Pro*Act, Rancho Market, Charlie's Produce, and Associated Wholesale Grocers. Last year's expo had almost as many buyers in attendance as there were exhibitors.

Sponsorship excitement has also been a sign that the event is becoming an important regional produce show. "We are excited to work with our sponsors to come up with impactful ways for them to have their companies recognized during SWIPE," says Jungmeyer. "By organizing fun events attendees want to sponsor like our Bourbon, Beer, and BBQ event, creating meaningful education sessions that people want to attend, and having a fantastic golf tournament we are hosting with our friends at the Fresh Produce & Floral Council, people feel their sponsorships really pay off."

The FPAA acknowledges that one of the best attributes of SWIPE is something they cannot take credit for. SWIPE 2024 attendees look forward to some spectacular weather with temperatures in the 70s in always-sunny Tucson, Arizona.

SWIPE is planning for over 60 top retailers and food service buyers at the event.

The 55th Annual Desert Golf Classic tournament is poised to be a combination of business and fun, and the Fresh Produce & Floral Council (FPFC) and FPAA partnership on the tournament plays a big part in that. "We're expecting spots to fill up faster than before," adds Jungmeyer. "If you're planning to join us on the course, we highly recommend registering as soon as possible because Starr Pass is a great course and this tournament will sell out."

The tournament is currently open to FPAA and FPFC members. Starting September 1st, registration for golf will open to the public.

Those interested in attending are encouraged to sign up soon as General Registration and All-Access Pass prices will increase on September 1.
