Jessica Cornely, Biofrais:

"We favor short and French supply chains"

Since opening its first store in Saint-Julien-en-Genevois in 2008, Biofrais has upheld a simple promise: to provide fresh, organic produce sourced as locally as possible. This ambitious project was spearheaded by the Grandchamp family, who have been cultivating vegetables in Haute-Savoie since the 1980s. Their mission? To offer a 100% organic alternative to conventional consumer choices, featuring over 8,000 organic products, with a strong emphasis on French and short supply chains, as highlighted by Jessica Cornely, Head of the Fruit and Vegetables Sector at Biofrais.

Today, Biofrais has expanded to five locations across Haute-Savoie and Ain, with the newest shop opening in Ville-la-Grand in March 2024. "Our stores cater to both grocery and non-food sectors, with a significant focus on fresh produce. This summer, we're offering a variety of seasonal favourites like apricots, peaches, nectarines, melons, watermelons, courgettes, aubergines, tomatoes, lettuce, and radishes. A large proportion of our fruit and vegetables are sourced from French producers, ensuring we maintain short supply chains and deliver the freshest, highest quality products," says Cornely.

Biofrais continues to grow by focusing on fresh produce, strengthening its regional presence, offering competitive prices, and fostering strong relationships with partner producers. The chain is also expanding its service offerings, including fresh-cut produce and in-store naturopath consultations, to enhance the customer experience.
