As the Southern Hemisphere gears up for its main blueberry season, industry forecasts predict higher volumes compared to the 2023/24 season. However, supplies from Peru are expected to experience delays, with peak arrivals anticipated around November. Despite this, Camposol is positioned to be one of the few suppliers offering significant volumes at the early stages of the season. The company is optimistic about matching last season's strong performance, with expectations of increased overall volumes and availability extending through February.
In addition to its established presence in Northern Europe, Camposol is expanding its reach into Southern and Eastern European markets, where rising blueberry consumption is driving growing interest from customers. This strategic expansion is aligned with the company's long-term goal of diversifying its market presence and reinforcing its leadership position in the global fruit sector.
Recently, the company has made efforts dedicated to both developing new varieties and enhancing packaging. The company has carefully selected high-quality blueberries known for their excellent firmness and crisp texture, ensuring optimal shelf life. Camposol's proprietary blueberry variety development program has now reached its eighth year, and the process of varietal replacement has commenced. The company projects to replace almost 50% of all its blueberry fields in the coming years, significantly increasing the production capacity to meet rising demand. Over the next 12 months, with about 200 hectares of new varieties slated for planting, production is expected to begin in 2025. The majority of the company's blueberries are packed at the source.
Camposol continues investing in advanced technologies across all stages of the production process, ensuring that products meet the highest quality and safety standards. To further enhance shelf life and quality at the retail level, the company offers a diverse range of packaging options, including clamshells, top seals, buckets, resealable films, and modified atmosphere packaging, among others. "We are confident in our ability to meet our commitments not just in volume but also in the superior quality that defines our company," Ricardo Naranjo, Interim CEO added. "Our strategic approach and focus on innovation allow us to maintain our leadership in the industry. Looking ahead, we are excited about exploring new markets and building long-lasting partnerships with customers who seek top-tier blueberries with an emphasis on sustainability and responsible production practices."
