In the last three campaigns, the price of zucchini paid to producers has fallen by 24%

According to a Hortoinfo report based on data from the Junta de Andalucía's Price and Market Observatory, the average price paid to producers for greenhouse zucchinis has decreased by 24.19% in the last three seasons, from €0.77/kilo in the 2021-2022 season to €0.62/kilo in the 2023-2024 season. This is the average price paid to producers upon delivery to the warehouse or trading company, not including VAT, handling costs, marketing, or commercial commissions. The data, collected at the end of July, is subject to adjustments pending final information from the marketing companies.

The Almeria-type zucchini recorded the biggest drop, with a 118.95% fall between the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 seasons. It is followed by French zucchini, with a 6.56% fall, and short zucchini, with a 3.03% drop. Green zucchini producers were paid an average price of €0.62/kilo this campaign, i.e. 15 cents less than in the 2021-2022 season, and 20 cents less than in the 2014/2015 season. On the other hand, yellow zucchini experienced a less pronounced decrease in price, going from €0.86/kilo in the 2021-2022 and 20222023 seasons to €0.80 in the 2023-2024 season.
