In the first half of this year, Kazakhstan's overall fruit and berry exports fell by 21.5% to 22,100 tons compared to the same period last year, generating $6.9 million in revenue for suppliers.
Apple exports saw a sharp decline, dropping by 50% to 3,400 tons. The primary buyers were Russia, Belarus, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan.
Exports of cherries, strawberries, and blueberries also decreased drastically by 3.6 times, totalling 1,100 tons. Russia remained the main importer of berries, though its volume decreased by 3.7 times. A small batch was also sent to Uzbekistan.
Melon exports plummeted fivefold, with only 850.2 tons shipped to Russia and Belarus. This contrasts with more than 4,000 tons exported in the first half of the previous year.
Watermelon exports also decreased slightly by 5.7% to 2,800 tons. Russia remained the main destination, receiving 1,900 tons (a 1.7-fold increase). However, Belarus reduced its watermelon purchases by 5.3 times to 228.3 tons, and Mongolia decreased its imports by 4.8% to 635.8 tons.
Date exports fell by 16% to 3,300 tons. Buyers included Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, and Uzbekistan.
On the other hand, grape exports (both fresh and dried) surged by 2.6 times to 3,800 tons, with shipments going to Russia and Tajikistan.
Apricots, peaches, and plums were purchased by Russia (2,500 tons, up 38.1%) and Tajikistan (8.3 tons).
Additionally, Kazakhstan exported 351.7 tons of pineapples, marking a 2.7-fold increase, primarily to Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.
