Kyrgyzstan faced challenges with apricot exports

Erbol Zamirbekov, head of the Department at the Ministry of Agriculture in Kyrgyzstan, discussed the ongoing challenges with apricot exports, which occur every year, similar to issues with potato exports, during an interview on "Birinchi Radio."

"The ministry has made some progress. We signed an agreement with China to export apricots from Batken and Issyk-Kul. However, customs issues with China prevented us from starting exports before the season began. We are now working to ensure that full-scale apricot exports to China will happen by 2025," Zamirbekov explained.

Zamirbekov outlined plans to establish small processing plants to meet increasing demand from Russia for apricot-based products, such as juices, jams, and purées. The ministry is considering opening such facilities in regions like Issyk-Kul and Batken, aiming to develop local apricot processing enterprises.
