Anantapur dispatches vegetables to flood-affected Vijayawada

In the wake of good tomato yields in Anantapur district, TD legislators and officials are actively engaged in purchasing these and other vegetables from local markets for dispatch to Vijayawada, aiming to support flood victims there. This initiative, part of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu's relief efforts, sees the procurement of not only tomatoes but also additional vegetables and groceries, some sourced from neighboring Karnataka, for distribution in the flood-stricken areas.

Kalyandurg MLA A. Surendra Babu highlighted the transportation of two truckloads of vegetables from Kalyandurg to Vijayawada on Wednesday, marking a significant contribution to the relief operations. Furthermore, Anantapur Urban MLA Venkateswara Prasad facilitated the shipment of 30 tonnes of tomatoes and other vegetables, while Madakasira MLA M.S. Raju extended his support by distributing clothes and essentials among the victims, overseeing flood relief measures in one of Vijayawada's divisions.
