Photo Report: Fresh produce exhibitors at Empack, Gent 2024

Empack took place at Flanders Expo in Ghent on Tuesday 17 and Wednesday 18 September. There was a special focus on the food industry in this edition. The fair was held simultaneously with Transport & Logistics and a section for Logistics & Industrial Build.

At the exhibitors' booths, it was noticeable that many of their peers were absent from the fair. The issue of plastic reduction remains a hot topic. While the anti-plastic movement is strong, achieving these goals is not always feasible. For instance, Aubier-Colard presented a 100% compostable cellulose film for packaging fruits and vegetables.

Avamoplast showcased its microbox, a new cultivation container featuring a filtration system, which was introduced last year. Additionally, ST-Luc Labels announced that it will be rebranding as 'Packyard' starting October 1.

In total, around 85 exhibitors were present.

We made a photo report of the exhibitors active in the fresh produce segment.
