Egypt has reported an agricultural export volume exceeding 6.4 million tons for the current year, as per a briefing by Mohamed El-Mansy, the head of the Egyptian Agricultural Quarantine, to the Minister of Agriculture, Alaa Farouk. This figure represents an uptick of over 529,000 tons from the previous year.
Citrus fruits have emerged as the foremost export item with shipments surpassing 2.201 million tons. Following closely are fresh potatoes with exports nearing 965,796 tons. Onions have been identified as the third most exported commodity with 261,580 tons, while exports of fresh and dry beans were recorded at 192,925 tons, securing the fourth position.
Additionally, grapes and sweet potatoes have been highlighted for their export volumes of 175,610 and 121,194 tons, respectively. The compilation of key agricultural exports also features mangoes, pomegranates, tomatoes, garlic, strawberries, and guava, underscoring the diverse range of Egypt's agricultural export portfolio.
