Jordan has refused to resume tomato exports to Israel, demanding an apology from Israel's Ministry of Health for its "unilateral statement" about detecting cholera bacteria in the Yarmouk River, which flows through Jordan.
Israel halted fruit and vegetable imports from Jordan over contamination concerns in August.
Many of Jordan's food exports to Israel consist of cucumbers and tomatoes.
Jordanian authorities were offended by the statement and are awaiting an apology. Meanwhile, Israel's Ministry of Agriculture has opened a new duty-free import quota for 5,000 tons of tomatoes from September to December.
