1st International Strawberry-Raspberry Conference – Berry Forum 2024 to be held in Poland

The 1st International Strawberry-Raspberry Conference - Berry Forum 2024 aims to provide the latest information regarding the cultivation and sale of strawberries and raspberries. Advisors, practitioners, and traders from across Europe are invited to participate. This will be an opportunity to attend lectures presented by experts from Poland and abroad. The discussions on the current requirements for selling berries in domestic and foreign retail chains are also expected to be very interesting.

This new event is for those who are focused on modern and profitable production of strawberries and raspberries. The conference will take place on November 27-28 at the Mazurkas Hotel in Ożarów Mazowiecki near Warsaw.

November 27 – Day 1 will be dedicated to strawberries:
The following topics will be discussed:
• Optimal systems and varieties for bed cultivation. Is growing strawberries in open ground still profitable? Bed cultivation technology for accelerated harvest, Seedling and variety selection for tunnel cultivation, Organic solutions in strawberry cultivation; Nutrient management in substrate cultivation; Fertilization and fertigation programs; Crop monitoring systems; Everbearing varieties; Retail chain expectations; Selling fruit in supermarkets; Issues with misshapen fruit in everbearing varieties.

The first day will conclude with a banquet for participants.

November 28 – Day 2 will focus on raspberries:
The topics will include:
• Variety and cultivation technology selection, Future trends in soilless cultivation, Nutrient solution management, Proper nutrient solution preparation, Cultivation technologies for single and double fruit harvest, Protection programs, Role of organic products, Controlling spider mites and Drosophila suzukii, Global trends in raspberry breeding, Requirements for new raspberry varieties, Labor and employee management and European raspberry market discussion.
