Guangxi free trade zone enhances China's trade efforts

At the China-Vietnam border, the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region's bustling trade is exemplified by a 12-lane truck inspection channel operating at full capacity, located at Youyiguan, or Friendship Pass. This checkpoint, part of the China (Guangxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone, facilitates the rapid processing of cross-border vehicles, with customs clearance achievable in under 15 seconds through facial and fingerprint scans. "Vehicles arriving on the same day can depart for Vietnam on the same day," stated Wang Shuqing, operations supervisor at Guangxi Dongju Supply Chain Management Co., Ltd.

Since its inception in 2019, the China (Guangxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone has implemented 169 innovative policies, contributing to a significant portion of the region's foreign investment and trade. At Qinzhou Port in Guangxi, the scene is one of constant activity, with ships bearing thousands of containers and cranes busily loading cargo. The port's operations are enhanced by artificial intelligence, streamlining the logistics process.

Additionally, the construction of the China-Vietnam Friendship Pass smart port in Pingxiang aims to introduce 24-hour automated customs clearance, further optimizing cross-border transportation. This initiative is part of the broader expansion of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, connecting 18 provinces in China with 518 ports across 124 countries and regions.

In the realm of trade, the China (Guangxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone houses a China-ASEAN fruit trading center that leverages real-time data to facilitate transactions. Companies like Guangxi Junyi Agricultural Technology Co., Ltd. benefit from the zone's strategic location and policies, enhancing their production and distribution capabilities.

The zone has also paved the way for new business ventures, such as the export of used cars to Armenia and the development of the China-Malaysia Qinzhou Industrial Park, which underscores the collaborative efforts between China and Malaysia in trade and logistics. Over the past five years, the China (Guangxi) Pilot Free Trade Zone has attracted over 100,000 companies, marking a significant increase in business activity within the region.
