"Demand is rising for Red Label Lautrec pink garlic"

In the fruit and vegetable section of the Leclerc store in Saint-Orens-de-Gameville (Occitania), a display is promoting the Red Label Lautrec pink garlic. The operation started on September 24th and will last two weeks. "Although we have already organized several operations of this kind in this store, this is the first time we have used this type of display in the colours of the Tarn region. The period was carefully chosen to highlight the products of the new French harvest from our producers," explains Emma de Premonville, sales manager southwestern France at Top Alliance.

A positive impact on sales
With such operations, the cooperative wants to promote the premium "Plaisir de France" range of onions and shallots, as well as the "Paysans du Sud-Ouest" range of garlic. "We want to stay in harmony with the background by placing the conventional and labeled ranges of pink garlic in the foreground, each presented in two different packaging formats. We have received very positive feedback from consumers on the display and the quality of the products. Our clients have appreciated the initiative of highlighting local and labeled products, which has strengthened their confidence in our brand. This Leclerc store also expressed the positive impact of this operation on sales. It would be interesting to consider other similar initiatives in the future, taking into account feedback from consumers and clients in order to improve our approach. By reinforcing communication around the benefits of the products presented, we could help to further stimulate interest and sales."

A dynamic onion market
In an inflationary context where fruit and vegetable consumption is not at its best, onions have managed to hold their own. "Onions enjoy a certain stability due to their versatility in the kitchen and their relatively affordable price due to the depth of their range. Consumers continue to buy them, as they are a basic culinary ingredient in many recipes. However, particular attention needs to be paid to product quality and origin to maintain customer interest."

Demand for garlic on the rise
Demand for garlic is currently on the rise, "mainly thanks to the growing interest in natural products and healthy food." Consumers are increasingly attracted to garlic because of its properties and its use in the kitchen. This is particularly true of pink garlic, which is perceived as a product of superior quality thanks to its highly controlled Red Label designation.

For both the onion and garlic harvests, Top Alliance is generally satisfied with the prices and quality of the products presented during this campaign. "The size of the onions and garlic was in line with our expectations, and we received positive feedback on the shelf life of the products. This reflects our commitment to quality, as well as client and consumer satisfaction."
