Guillin Group at the Madrid Fair

Customised packaging and sustainable innovations

The companies part of the Guillin Group - Ciesse Paper, Dynaplast, Nespak, Sharpak and Veripack, representatives of the Fresh Produce Business Unit - have always been synonymous with cutting-edge technology in the fruit and vegetable packaging sector.

New solutions include the range of rPET packaging, developed by Dynaplast and Nespak for delicate fruits such as 'soft type' persimmons and ripe peaches, and suitable for two, three or four fruits. Thanks to their sturdiness and the transparency of rPET, the products remain clearly visible and protected, preserving the freshness of ripe and ready-to-eat fruit.

In addition to rPET packaging, Ciesse Paper, boasting over 40 years of experience in the fruit and vegetable cardboard sector, also offers customized solutions perfect for a wide range of fruits. Some cardboard trays, such as Maxipack Handle, also feature customizable handles offering an elegant presentation of the product, as well as making it easier for consumers to handle.

Together with the Guillin Group, Nespak has also significantly invested in the development of the cells required in the European and American markets, positioning itself as the market leader for the packaging of stone fruit, pears and avocados.

Veripack, the Group's Spanish company, has developed new solutions made of heat-sealable folding carton with film: the Maxipack Top Seal range.

These solutions are made with special water-repellent paper that can withstand moisture, now a frequent problem when it comes to cardboard packs used for fruit and vegetables. The solution with the heat-sealable film facilitates stacking and therefore handling at the points of sale, improving visibility especially for table grapes, berries and cherry tomatoes. All packets can be customized using high-resolution printing techniques.

Together with the Guillin Group's Fresh Produce Business Unit, Sharpak's design and production team has launched the SharpTek technology, i.e. trays that provide protection for berries even without bubble wrap thereby drastically reducing packaging weight by 17%.

SharpTek thus sets a new standard with fully recyclable, single-material trays designed to cushion delicate fruits without the use of absorbent micro-bubble material, while reinforcing the Group's commitment to sustainability.

"Visit us at Fruit Attraction in Madrid on October 8-10, at stand 9F23. It will be the perfect opportunity to discuss your specific needs and see these innovative packaging solutions. In addition, Guillin Group will attend the Global Produce and Floral show (PMA) in Atlanta with the Guillin Fresh Produce Business Unit team on October 17-19 at stand C1820."
