The International Taste Institute (ITI) in Brussels has awarded the ORRi mandarin, for the second consecutive year, with the prestigious Superior Taste Award. This award, which recognizes excellence in flavor and quality of food products worldwide, consolidates ORRi as one of the most appreciated mandarin varieties on the international scene.
The recognition comes at a key moment when competition is fiercer than ever and the demand for premium products continues to grow. ORRi has managed to stand out for its fresh and natural aroma, soft and juicy texture, and unparalleled perfectly balanced sweet and sour flavor. These attributes were decisive for the jury to award ORRi three stars, the highest distinction reserved only for products of outstanding quality.
This award reinforces ORRi's leadership in the global market, highlighting its unique combination of flavor, smooth texture, and long shelf life differentiates it from other mandarin varieties.
The ITI jury is composed of more than 200 internationally renowned chefs and sommeliers, who carry out an exhaustive sensory evaluation based on blind tastings. Each product is judged solely on its intrinsic characteristics, such as appearance, aroma, taste, and texture.
In the words of the ITI jury, "This is an extraordinary mandarin with an authentic appearance and taste. Its aroma invites you to try it and its taste enchants you."
Guillermo Soler, ORRi's manager, spoke on behalf of the ORC, the Association of Orri Mandarin Producers, to express their satisfaction with this award. "We are deeply proud that the ORRi mandarin is the only variety to have received the International Taste Award two years in a row. This achievement is a recognition of the hard work of our farmers, the professionals who are committed to it, and the loyalty of consumers. Fruit Attraction 2024
ORRi's stand at Fruit Attraction will be a meeting point for the more than 500 producers that are part of the ORC and host activities to showcase the qualities of this premium variety to expand its sales network and attract new consumers.
"We are convinced that there are still many commercial opportunities to be exploited, backed by the exceptional organoleptic qualities of this variety and its extraordinary shelf life, which facilitates its export to various international markets," Soler said.
The ORC invited everybody attending the fair to visit the ORRi stand (10E20) to discover the outstanding taste of this mandarin variety. In addition, everybody that follows ORRi on any of their social networks, will get a gift while stocks last.
