Optical sorters on display at Global Show

WECO and Multiscan Technologies (Multiscan), both members of Duravant's Food Sorting and Handling Solutions group, will exhibit together at the Global Produce and Floral Show, October 17-19. WECO's new 360Tek optical sorter for blueberries will be on display, alongside Multiscan's S30 optical sorter for cherry and grape tomatoes. The inspection solutions help ensure consistent product quality, maximize yields, and enhance operational efficiencies.

"Growers and packers are facing constantly evolving challenges, from tightening profit margins to escalating consumer demands for premium produce. The close partnership between WECO and Multiscan allows us to combine our strengths and directly address these market pressures with new innovations like our co-developed 360Tek sorter," said Jack Lee, Duravant Group president - food sorting and handling solutions. "Our commitment to customers extends beyond selling and leasing equipment – we offer 24/7 support across North America to help growers and packers operate at peak efficiency during their critical harvest periods."

The new 360Tek optical sorter for blueberries seamlessly integrates at the end of WECO's modular Sortivator line. Conveying berries over a series of hourglass-shaped rollers, the 360Tek takes up to 16 photos of each object to accurately identify and separate product with fine defects, extraneous vegetable matter (EVM), and jumbo berries. Inspecting up to 8,000 lbs. (3,600 kg) of blueberries per hour, this affordable sorter maximizes product quality while reducing labor requirements.

The compact S30 optical sorter for cherry and grape tomatoes rotates each object 360 degrees utilizing Multiscan's SpinSort technology to ensure comprehensive inspection and thorough removal of target defects. Available in multiple configurations to suit different applications and floorspace requirements, the S30 automates the sorting process to increase line efficiency and minimizing labor requirements while achieving stringent product quality standards.

WECO and Multiscan will be at the show in booth #C3129.
