The Undersecretariat of International Economic Relations (Subrei) of Chile has disclosed that as of September 2024, the country's export sector has achieved a new annual high in shipments of goods and services. Furthermore, the count of exporting companies has seen an accumulation in growth of 3.9%, marking the highest level for a comparable timeframe since record-keeping commenced. Based on the preliminary data from the monthly trade report by Subrei, which utilizes figures from the Central Bank of Chile and the National Customs Service, the exports of goods amounted to US$ 74,154.3 million. This figure represents a growth of 4.3% when juxtaposed with the corresponding period in the previous year.
Other shipments that stand out in the period are those of fresh fruit, with accumulated operations for US$ 6,037.5 million, a figure that reflects an increase of 13.8% compared to the same period in 2023, due to record exports of kiwis, plums, and cherries, and increases in shipments of lemons, grapes, apples, pears, blueberries, and avocados.
