The Third Edition of "International business meetings with retailers": one-to-one meetings between production companies and fruit and vegetables buyers of national and international large-scale retailers, the event is organized by Fresh Food Leader, will take place on the 23rd of January 2025 in Bergamo.
It is an exclusive event in fruit and vegetables sector on international level, focused more directly on customers and immediate commercial response with a much lower investment than a trade fair participation with a stand.
The participating buyers appreciate the quality of the event: face-to-face meetings formula, a scheduled agenda, quality of participating growers and production companies. Moreover, it is an extra opportunity for them to conclude on-going negotiations, widen the assortment with present suppliers and start relationships with new suppliers.
The participating retailers come from different countries, have different dimensions and commercial strategies. They are either growing rapidly in the number of supermarkets and sales volumes and therefore need to identify new suppliers, aim to widen the assortment to differentiate themselves or shorten a supply chain by sourcing directly from production companies.
What the producers appreciate about the event is the possibility to come into direct contact with retailers that they could hardly reach on their own, the comfort and efficiency to meet them all in one day and one location. "What makes the event stand apart from other events is that meetings are not left to chance but organized in advance." – says one of the participants.
They appreciate, the choice of the venue which is easily accessible and close to the three main Italian wholesale markets: Milan, Verona and Padova where operate national companies that supply regional retailers.
Moreover, the value of the event goes beyond meetings with retailers: they also come into contact with other production and trading companies, creating an additional business opportunity. This is thanks to the design of the event that enhances networking.
The packaging and variety development companies have so far made good use of this opportunity to promote their solutions directly to the purchasing managers from the large-scale retailer, as well to the participating growers and global supplying companies.
