The tomato yield in the Bilasuvar district, Azerbaijan, has increased by nearly a third, according to the State Center for Agricultural Development. This year, tomatoes were planted on 667.7 hectares of land.
Currently, 35,720 tons of produce have been harvested, with an average yield of 552.1 centners per hectare. For comparison, last year tomatoes were grown on 228.63 hectares, producing 9,738 tons of tomatoes, with an average yield of 426 centners per hectare.
This means the average yield has increased by almost 30 percent year-over-year.
Currently, the harvest in the district is still ongoing.
