The first fresh bananas from Laos arrived in Beijing via China-Laos Railway

The first load of fresh bananas from Laos arrived in Beijing, marking a milestone in the China-Laos Railway's cold-chain logistics system. The shipment, carried by the railway's first international cold-chain train, highlights the railway's potential to boost regional trade and cooperation.

The train transported 390 tons of bananas from Vientiane to Beijing, using advanced cold-chain technology to maintain freshness and reduce costs. These bananas are highly popular in China due to their ideal cultivation conditions in Laos. The shipment marks the beginning of regular cold-chain operations, expected by December, enhancing the trade of fruits, electronics, and other goods between China, Laos, and Southeast Asia. This development aligns with the 15th anniversary of the China-Laos Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, reflecting deepening economic ties under the Belt and Road Initiative.
