Apple prices in Ukraine set new records

This week, apple prices in Ukraine have resumed their upward trend, according to analysts from the EastFruit project. According to the producers themselves, the latest price increase in this segment is due to a reduction in the supply of winter apple varieties in the domestic market. Meanwhile, demand from buyers remains quite high, which is driving up the price of this product in the Ukrainian market.

Currently, apples are offered for sale in the range of 17–25 UAH/kg ($0.41-0.61/kg), depending on the variety, quality, and volume of the offered batch, which is on average 13% more expensive than at the end of the last work week. Today's apple prices in Ukraine remain the highest they have been in at least the last 7 years of monitoring!

Additionally, the supply of quality apples on the market is quite limited, as many producers prefer not to rush sales, storing the entire volume of winter apples in hopes of more intense price growth in this segment, both in the domestic market and for higher prices from exporting companies.

As a result, apples in Ukraine today cost buyers on average 54% more than they did during the same period last year. Market operators note that the price increase has not led to a decrease in demand for apples, and consequently, they do not rule out that sellers will attempt to revise prices in this segment again next week.
